Day 2

Well it is day two of our 30 day detox and probably the reality of what we are doing is finally hitting everyone. I been gathering some great info to post to the blog but today is going to be a simple question, WHAT DID YOU EAT TODAY? ARE YOU ABLE TO FOLLOW THE RULES?

  1. Man, am I the first?? Ok so today was a bit tougher. I did really good in the beginning of the day, though didn't get any real excercise. I did however do some stretching. Eating habits were good though. Woke up and drank warm water w/ lemon. I didn't eat my fruit right away as I was in a hurry, then tried to eat in the car. Lesson learned today: Don't eat fruit after brushing teeth!!! YUCK! I had to snack on a few saltines before I could eat any fruit. Lunch: spinach salad w/ sweet dijon dressing, a few croutons, and feta & parm. cheese. Dinner: Baked chicken in cream of mushroom soup, brown rice & steamed broccoli YUMMMMMYYYY! I even went to marshalls and bought a great stainless steel steamer. I was really excited because I could make the rice & steam the broccoli at the same time, and both turned out perfect! Oh, and I had a croissant. I've learned I need to snack more though. Between meals I'm soooo hungry, and just drinking water doesn't help! I just wasn't feeling the raw trail mix today!

  3. Ok Ladies, another day, but a better day. Im really proud of myself. I started the morning off right by walking around the complex twice. My day was really busy, so all I ate today was a tuna melt, jello and a half gallon of water. Oh yea, I had three cups of coffee. Following the rules is not a problem for me, because I really want to see the end results.

  4. Day 2, reality set in, but I was good. I drank my lemon water and will say that I am impressed with how quick it works. I at a plumb, grapes and wheat thins non-stop until 8pm when I finally had lunch--a salad with cucumbers, tomato and grilled chicken. I exercised by walking around Michael's searching for God knows what for my kids. At midnight I ate 2 bowls of honeycomb cereal.

  5. Sorry, I'm a day late posting for day 2. Raw foods did not make it into my day 2 as planned. I will try again next week with some adjustments. This was a learning experience for me in that because of where I am in my health, I have to really be careful with monitoring my blood sugar. I'm not a diabetic, but I am in the pre-diabetes stage. I take Metformin to regulate my over production of insulin.I want to revisit day one by saying eating all raw I have to seriously watch my blood sugar. I had some dizzy spells but I attributed it to my medication instead of my blood sugar levels because in the past these reactions were due to over medication. Having said that, day 2 I had veggies and fruit and lemon water, but I did add some baked chicken in. I didn't experience the dizzy spells and felt fine. When I do my raw days next week, I think I'll do more "oranges" because they give me a fuller feeling where as I did more raw veggies on the first day. I stayed really hungry, but the good thing I noticed with the raw on day one was that I didn't have "itis" after lunch. I didn't feel sluggish at any point...just the bouts of dizziness.
